Remote, an HR services provider that focuses on building, managing, and supporting globally distributed workforces, has welcomed Barbara Matthews to the role of Chief People Officer, effective May 2023.
In her role, Matthews is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and scalability of the company through its distributed team around the world. She reports directly to CEO Job van der Voort.
Based in Dublin, Ireland, the leader joins Remote from Stripe, where she helped build the company’s global HR function as its International Head of HR, EMEA & APAC. Prior to Stripe, she spent more than 12 years on the People team at Google.
Commenting on her priorities in her latest appointment, she shared: "My focus as Chief People Officer will be to ensure that we provide an environment where our employees can thrive and grow, and to build a culture that supports our vision of making opportunities accessible to everyone."
Adding his views, CEO Job said: "Barbara’s experience in building and nurturing high-performing distributed teams will be invaluable as we continue to grow."
