Speaking exclusively to HRO, Verma shared that he will be focusing on talent acquisition strategy to attract top talent, and more.

Eminent HR leader Manish Verma has welcomed a new role as Global Chief Talent & Leadership Development Officer at recruitment agency, Randstad.

In this global role, he leads Randstad's Centre of Expertise (CoE) for Global Talent, and reports to the CHRO, who is part of the Executive Board. He continues to be based in Singapore, and is excited to "continue pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the talent industry".

Speaking exclusively to Human Resources Online, Verma shared that he will be responsible for ensuring Randstad has the right talent and pipeline of great talent in place to achieve its mission and strategic goals, and that the employees are engaged, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Specific areas of focus for Verma include: talent acquisition strategy to attract top talent; leadership development and effectiveness to nurture and develop leaders at all levels of the organisation, including reviewing leadership expectations; employee engagement and retention; and succession and career navigation strategy.

On a broader industry outlook, this HR veteran believes that coaching and mentoring will be important talent developments for CHROs to track. He added, it will also be worthwhile to keep a lookout for talent value proposition for those on rotation and moves, and lastly, building the talent pipeline

With this development, Verma brings to an end close to 12 years of tenure at food giant, Cargill, where he has been credited for the global accountability of strategy, programme, solutions, and delivery for talent acquisition, employee value proposition, senior executive hiring, talent management, succession planning, next-gen leaders' development, employee engagement, and more.

In a note to his former colleagues at Cargill, Verma called them his "reason to dream big and be better". He added: "I am grateful to everyone who helped me in my journey at Cargill with excitement as it has been. To each of you that I have been privileged to work, engage or interact with, I wish you the very best."

Looking ahead, he shared: "Randstad's mission to improve as many working lives as possible by helping people realise their true potential is truly inspiring, which we as HR professionals always strive for."

Previously to Cargill, Verma worked as Global Talent Lead for Nokia, Asia Regional HR Lead for Accenture Consulting, and European Region HR lead for BT JV, based in London where he worked in HR strategy, talent acquisition management, regional HR, and shared services strategy consulting.
